Port Filtering

Click Port Filtering in the Advanced menu to enhance the security of your system by controlling which
applications are allowed to access the Internet.
Port filtering allows you to conserve bandwidth by preventing non-business applications from
accessing the Internet. It can also be used to specifically allow certain applications such as games
and video conferencing software to use certain ports to access their online components.
The Port Filtering page allows you to enable port filtering, allow selected applications to access the
Internet, and set up custom applications for access to the Internet.

Port Filtering for Standard Applications

From the Port Filtering page, select the Enable Port Filtering check box.
Select the check boxes for the applications for which you want to allow access to the
Internet.
Click Apply.
NOTE
The device uses standard ports for these applications. If you have applications that do not use the
standard ports or that are not listed under Allowed Applications, use Custom Applications.
