Adjusting the sound

Selecting the audio language or sound mode

To select the audio language in digital TV mode:
• Press SAP repeatedly to select an audio language
(if available).
To select the sound mode in analog TV mode:
• Press SAP repeatedly to cycle through the audio
sound modes. The options available depend on
the broadcaster. You can select:
• Mono—Select this mode if there is noise or
static from a weak broadcast signal.
• Stereo—Select this mode for programs
broadcast in stereo sound.
• SAP—Select this mode to listen to audio in an
alternate language (if available).

Adjusting sound settings

To adjust sound settings:
1 Press MENU. The on-screen menu opens.

• Mode—Selects the equalizer (EQ) audio
mode. You can select Standard, Theater,
Music, News, or Custom.
Note
You can also press AUDIO repeatedly to select the audio mode.
• Treble—Adjusts the high sounds.
• Bass—Adjusts the low sounds.

• Balance—Adjusts the balance between the
left and right audio channels.
• Auto Volume—Adjusts the volume to keep
the volume level consistent when switching
channels or when switching from a TV show to
a commercial. You can select On or Off.
• Advanced Audio—Opens the Advanced
Audio sub-menu.

• Digital Audio/SPDIF—Selects the audio
format for digital audio signals. You can
select PCM or RAW.
• Audio Language—Selects the default

language track when watching digital TV
programs. You can select English, Français
(French), or Español (Spanish).
• MTS/SAP—Selects the default language
stream when watching analog or digital TV
channels. See "Selecting the audio
language or sound mode" on page 23.
• Speakers—Selects the TV audio output
source. If an external audio system is
connected to your TV, select External to
send the TV sound to the audio system.
• Reset Audio Settings—Resets all audio
settings to factory defaults.
5 Press EXIT to close the menu.

Playing TV audio only

Settings
You can turn off the video on your TV and only
listen to the program audio.
To play TV audio only:
