4. Repeat steps 1 - 3 on the other device in which to
connect. The steps may differ on a different model of
phone.
5. Tap Wi-Fi Direct to start scanning.

6. Tap Accept from the other device to connect. The other
device has 2 minutes to respond.
The other device displays with a Connected status in
your list of Wi-Fi Direct devices and the
displays at the top of your screen.
7. Press Help for additional information about
Wi-Fi Direct.
Name your Wi-Fi Direct connection:
It is difficult to pair to an external device if all you have is a
generic name or number. It is better to provide a unique
connection name to your phone.
1. From the Home screen, tap
Wi-Fi Direct.
2. Press Device name to change your phone
name.

3. Backspace to erase the current label and enter a new
name for your phone.
Sharing Information with Connected Device
To share Videos, Photos, or other information with the
connected device, follow these steps:
1. View the information that you want to share. For
example, if you want to share a photo, find the photo in
your camera viewer or My Files folder, then tap the
Share, Share via, or Send via option.
2. Tap the Wi-Fi Direct option.
3. Tap the connected device name. For example,
Android_49b.
4. The other device receives a prompt to receive the
information and must tap OK.
5. The file transfers and the other device receives a
screen notification that a Wi-Fi file was received. The
file is located in My Files in the ShareViaWifi folder.
Note: Depending on the other device model, the prompts and
shared folder information may differ.
