Using closed captioning
6 Press or to select a closed captioning mode. You can select:
• CC1 through CC4—Closed captioning appears in a small
banner across the bottom of the screen. CC1 is usually the
"printed" version of the audio. CC2 through CC4 display
content provided by the broadcaster.
• Text1 through Text4—Closed captioning that covers half
or all of the screen. Text1 through Text4 display content
provided by the broadcaster.
7 Press EXIT to close the menu.
Customizing digital TV closed captioning
styles
To customize DTV closed captioning:
1 Press MENU. The on-screen menu opens.

2 Press or to highlight SETTINGS, then press . The
SETTINGS menu opens.

Closed Caption Setup screen opens.

captioning option. You can select CS1-CS6 (displays content
provided by broadcaster).

Note: To reset the closed captioning styles to their defaults, set Style to

style. You can select:
• Size–To select a size for the words.
• Font–To select a font for the words.
• Text Color–To select a color for the text.
• Text Opacity–To select the opacity for the text.
• Background Color–To select a color for the background.
• Background Opacity–To select the opacity for the
background.
• Edge Effect–To select a effect for the edges.
9 Press EXIT to close the menu.
