    Verifying system requirements Before installation begins, the installation utility verifies whether: For HP-UX, Linux, and Windows, the operating system meets the minimum requirements. If HP SMH does not support the operating system on a system, an error message appears, indicating that an invalid operating system was found.

    3 Known issues HP SMH undergoes rigorous testing before releasing any given version of the product. From HP test activities to date, the following items have been uncovered that you should keep in mind. Please also refer to the HP System Management Homepage Installation Guide and HP System Management Homepage Online Help for known issues.

    Change the file permissions by running the following command: # chmod 0500 /opt/hpsmh/bin/script/smhassist.pl Create a soft link to the extracted smhassist file by running the following command: # ln -f -s /opt/hpsmh/script/smhassist.pl /opt/hpsmh/bin/smhassist Now, run the smhassist command. The command should work as expected. After you have implemented the workaround, if required, you can reverse the workaround.
