2. Make sure the brake system provides adequate stopping power:
• Test ride the bike
• Make sure the lever can move at least 25mm (Figure 7), but cannot
contact the handlebar under hard braking.
If the brakes fail these tests, do not ride the bicycle. Readjust the brake system or
choose different components.
