You can also double-click a PaperPort item in Windows Explorer to view it in Page View.

To return to Desktop View, click the Desktop button. You can also use the First Page, Last Page, Previous Page, and Next Page commands on the Page menu to move from page to page. To move between pages in a stack in Desktop View: Select the stack.

To send items to other applications, you use the Link Bar. The Link Bar automatically displays link icons for applications installed on your computer and supported by the Visual Explorer software, such as electronic fax or e-mail applications.

    ILING ITEMS IN FOLDERS ILING ITEMS IN FOLDERS Desktop View provides an easy-to-use filing system for organizing your items. The filing system consists of folders shown in the Folder View and items shown on the Desktop. A folder that appears in the Folder View can be any folder located on your hard drive or located on a device attached to your computer, such as an external drive or disk.
  • Page 14 ISIONEER ISUAL XPLORER ETTING TARTED UIDE DDING OLDERS TO THE OLDER Adding a folder to the Folder View lets you use Visual Explorer to see a folder and its items that are located on your hard disk or on another device connected to your computer.
  • Page 15 ILING ITEMS IN FOLDERS To see the contents of a folder: In the Folder View, click a Folder or click the plus sign next to a folder if one appears. Any subfolders included in the folder appear in the Folder View. Items appear on the Desktop.

The easiest way to move an item into a folder is by dragging and dropping the item. You can file items one at a time, or you can file multiple selected items all at the same time.

    ILING ITEMS IN FOLDERS To add a folder: Click the location in which you want to add a folder. From the File menu, choose New, and then Folder. Type the new folder’s title. Select a color from the drop-down list, and then click OK.

  • Page 19 APTURING EB PAGES APTURING EB PAGES With Visual Explorer’s Web Capture, you can easily add Web pages directly to the Desktop View and automatically update them the next time you connect to the Internet. For example, you can capture information about your favorite stocks and then automatically update the Web page to reflect the latest numbers.
  • Page 20 ISIONEER ISUAL XPLORER ETTING TARTED UIDE To capture only the visible portion of a page, click the Web Capture icon in the Windows taskbar, and then choose Capture Visible Portion. Web Capture saves the special PaperPort item and identifies it with the browser’s application icon.
