Quick start guide 3. Before you turn on your phone Take the back cover off Hold the device securely with one hand and the back panel facing you. Gently push the speaker with your thumb until the back cover disengages from the device. Carefully pull the back cover to remove it.

Quick start guide Insert the battery Insert the battery with its exposed copper contacts into the phone first. The exposed copper contacts should be on the right when you insert the battery. Push the battery all the way in. Insert the microSD card Insert the microSD card into the slot with its gold contacts facing down.

Quick start guide Charge the battery Insert the power adapter plug into the USB connector at the bottom of your phone. Connect the power adapter to an electrical outlet to start charging the battery. It will take about three hours for the battery to be fully charged.

. When your phone asks you to choose a type of USB connection, tap HTC Sync, and then tap Done. . On your computer, wait for HTC Sync to recognize your phone. When the Device setup screen opens, enter a name for your phone, and then click Save.
Quick start guide 13. Lock your phone Locking your phone turns the display off and puts your phone into sleep mode. This helps prevent accidental presses and saves battery power. When you’re not using your phone, press the POWER button to lock your phone. Your phone also automatically locks when it’s idle for a while.

Quick start guide 15. Factory resetting Need to start over? If you’re passing your phone on to someone else or just want a fresh start, you can factory reset your phone. It’s not a step to be taken lightly. Factory resetting your phone will delete all your data, including any applications you’ve downloaded and installed.
