    SAFETY INFORMATION Continued Any safety screen or guard removed for servicing the appliance must be replaced prior to operating the heater. If this happens, close pro- pane/LP supply valve and open again slowly. 8. Check all connections for leaks. Apply a noncorrosive leak detection fluid to gas joints.

    INSPECTING BURNER Check pilot flame pattern and burner flame pattern often. PILOT FLAME PATTERN Figure 18 shows a correct pilot flame pattern. Figure 19 shows an incorrect pilot flame pattern. The incorrect pilot flame is not touching the thermocouple. This will cause the thermocouple to cool.
