When ventilating to an adjoining unconfined space, you must pro- vide two permanent openings: one within 12" of the ceiling and one within 12" of the floor on the wall connecting the two spaces (see options 1 and 2, Figure 5).

Electri- cian must provide a clamp on the box cover to secure the wir- ing. Wiring should be routed through the bushing in the hole on the outer casing of heater.

    WARNING: A qualified ser- vice person must connect fire- place to gas supply. Follow all local codes. VMH26TNB WARNING: Never connect fireplace to private (non-utility) gas wells. This gas is commonly known as wellhead gas. IMPORTANT: Check gas line pressure be- fore connecting fireplace to gas line.

Remove fireplace screen. Remove two screws that hold fireplace screen in place for shipping. These screws are located near top of screen.

    INSPECTING BURNER Continued BURNER FLAME PATTERN Figure 33 shows a correct burner flame pattern. Figure 34 shows an incorrect burner flame pattern. The incorrect burner flame pattern shows sporadic, irregular flame tip- ping. The flame should not be dark or have an orange/reddish tinge.
