    SELECTING LOCATION PRE-INSTALLATION PREPARATION Clearances SELECTING LOCATION To determine the safest and most efficient location for your appli- ance, you must take into consideration the following guidelines: 1.     VENTING INSTALLATION A B-type venting system must be connected to the appliance for venting to the outside of the building. The following section is provided as a guide to a standard B-type vent installation. Standing codes requirements concerning B-type vent installations may vary within your state, province or local codes jurisdiction.

    INSTALLATION WALL SWITCH INSTALLATION The installation of a wall switch allows you to activate the gas control valve without the normal household electricity since the valve operates on millivolt current supplied by the heat generated by the thermopile. To install the wall switch: Remove the front refractory access panel by lifting up and an- gling out of the firebox opening (see Figure 13).

The vent can be installed through any outside wall a minimum of three feet below fireplace termination cap.
  • Page 17 INSTALLATION Continued Once the top and bottom pins are secured, unfold the door into the closed position. Repeat the process for the opposite door assembly. To adjust the doors, slide them partially open. Using a screw- driver, loosen the hold-down screws in the spring clip (see Fig- ure 36) and pivot plate.
