VideoImpression 1.5 – A Sample Project
In this tutorial, we'll walk though creating a sample movie file. Remember that there is also a quick-start
tutorial and overview in the program's Help file.
1. To begin, click on the New icon.
You will appear on the Album
screen. Some sample albums
will be available, but let's create
our own. From the album drop-
down, select "New." A blank,
untitled album will appear.
2. Click on the Get icon. An Open window will appear, allowing you to browse your system to select
the still image and movie files that you'd like to add to your album. You can add multiple files at once
by holding down the Ctrl key on your keyboard and single-clicking the files that you want. Also, you
can name your album by clicking over its current title and typing in a new name.

  • Page 2 3. As you can tell from the above images, we’ve added one still image file (JPG), one movie file (AVI) and one audio file (WAV). What we’ll do is combine them to form one movie file, with a soundtrack. You can run two audio files simultaneously (in our example, we’ll only use one). Below is a diagram of the Storyboard.
  • Page 3 5. Text and text effects can be added to your presentation. From the Album screen, click on the Storyboard component (image or movie file) that you want to add text to. After it’s highlighted, click on the Edit Movie icon. From here, you can adjust the brightness/contrast of the image, and add Transitions and Text (which is what we want).
