1.1 Overview
The RAID Controller SRCS16 provides a high-performance Intelligent Peripheral
Component Interconnect to High Speed Serialized AT Attachment (PCI-to-Serial ATA)
interface with Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) control capabilities. Serial
ATA RAID controllers provide reliability, high performance, and fault-tolerant disk
subsystem management.
You can install the RAID Controller SRCS16 on a PCI bus and use it to connect Serial ATA
drives to the host computer over a Serial ATA bus.
The RAID Controller SRCS16 is an ideal RAID solution for internal storage on workgroup,
departmental, and enterprise systems. SATA RAID controllers offer a cost-effective way to
implement RAID in a server.
The RAID Controller SRCS16 supports all major operating systems, such as Microsoft*
Windows* XP, Microsoft* Windows* 2000, Microsoft* Windows Server* 2003, Novell*
NetWare* 6.5, Red Hat* Linux* 9.0, Red Hat* Enterprise Linux* 3.0, and SuSE* Linux* 9.0.
