WARNING: This is an unvented gas-fired heater. It uses air (oxygen) from the room in
which it is installed. Provisions for adequate combustion and ventilation air must be
provided. Refer to Air for Combustion and Ventilation section on page 4 of this manual.
This appliance may be installed in an aftermarket,* manufactured (mobile) home, where
not prohibited by local codes.
This appliance is only for use with the type of gas indicated on the rating plate. This
appliance is not convertible for use with other gases.

    INSTALLATION NOTICE: This heater is intended for use as supplemental heat. Use this heater along with your pri- mary heating system. Do not in- stall this heater as your primary heat source. If you have a central heating system, you may run system’s circulating blower while using heater.

    ® FLAME-MAX UNVENTED GAS LOG HEATER INSTALLATION Continued INSTALLING DAMPER CLAMP ACCESSORY FOR VENTED OPERATION Note: When used as a vented heater, appli- ance must be installed only in a solid-fuel burning fireplace with a working flue and constructed of noncombustible material. If your heater is a manually controlled model, you may use this heater as a vented product.

    Install the external regulator between the heater and propane/LP supply. WARNING: Never connect natural gas heater to private (non- utility) gas wells. This gas is com- monly known as wellhead gas. Installation Items Needed Before installing heater, make sure you have the items listed below.

Locate sediment trap where it is within reach for cleaning. Install in piping system between fuel supply and heater. Locate sedi- ment trap where trapped matter is not likely to freeze.
