You must reduce in- coming gas pressure to between 11 and 14 inches of water. If you do not reduce incoming gas pres- sure, heater regulator damage could occur.

    INSPECTING BURNERS Check pilot flame pattern and burner flame pat- terns often. PILOT FLAME PATTERN Figure 39 shows a correct pilot flame pattern. Figure 40 shows an incorrect pilot flame pattern. The incor- rect pilot flame is not touching the thermocouple. This will cause the thermocouple to cool.
