Server Chassis Features
The 4040C-TR/4040C-8R is a high-end, scaleable server platform. The following
is a general outline of the main features of the SC748TQ-R1000/SC748S-R1000
server chassis.
System Power
The SC748TQ-R1000/SC748S-R1000 features a redundant 1000W power supply
composed of two separate power modules. This power redundancy feature allows
you to replace a failed power supply without shutting down the system.
SATA Subsystem (4040C-TR only)
The SATA subsystem supports up to four 3 Gb/sec SATA hard drives, which are
hot-swappable. The SATA drives are connected to a SATA backplane. A RAID
controller card can be used with the backplane to provide data security.
Note: The operating system you use must have RAID support to enable the hot-
swap capability of the SATA drives.
SCSI Subsystem (4040C-8R only)
The SCSI subsystem supports up to four 80-pin SCA Ultra320 SCSI hard drives,
which are hot-swappable. Any standard 3.5" drives are supported. SCA = Single
Connection Attachment.) The SCSI drives are connected to a duale channel SCA
backplane with SAF-TE. A RAID controller card can be used with the SCA back-
plane to provide data security.
Note: The operating system you use must have RAID support to enable the hot-
swap capability of the SCSI drives.
