Views

The System Center Essentials Console provides a collection of folders and windows for viewing
information stored in the System Center Essentials database. The HP BladeSystem Management Pack for
Microsoft® System Center Essentials 2007 includes predefined HP BladeSystem Enclosure views that
present information about each HP BladeSystem Enclosure and associated alerts.
The following views are added on the System Center Essentials Console after successful installation of the
HP BladeSystem Management Pack 1.0 for System Center Essentials 2007:
HP BladeSystem Enclosures—This is the root folder that includes all HP BladeSystem related views.
This folder appears in the HP Servers folder which is defined by HP ProLiant Server Management
Pack for System Center Essentials 2007. Some Enclosure monitored information is shown in HP
Servers views.
HP BladeSystem Enclosures/Active Alerts—This view displays all active alerts generated from the HP
BladeSystem Enclosures and HP BladeSystem Enclosure Monitor Service. The same alerts will be
seen in the HP Servers/Active Alerts view.
HP BladeSystem Enclosures/Device Bay State—This view displays all device bays with state and
properties in managed HP BladeSystem Enclosures.
HP BladeSystem Enclosures/Enclosure Diagram—This view displays the diagram view starting with
the HP BladeSystem Enclosure Group. The same group is shown under the HP Servers Group from
the HP Servers/Server Diagram view.
HP BladeSystem Enclosures/Enclosure State—This view displays the state view by HP BladeSystem
Enclosures.
HP BladeSystem Enclosures/Health Collection State—This view displays the state view by HP
BladeSystem Health Collections. The same Health Collections are shown in the HP Servers/Health
Collection State view.
HP BladeSystem Enclosures/Monitor Service State—This view displays the state view of the HP
BladeSystem Enclosure Monitor Service. The same Monitor Service State is shown at HP Servers/HP
Management Servers.
HP BladeSystem/Task Status—This view displays the task results. Only remote tasks will appear here.

Active Alerts view

The Active Alerts view displays all active alerts associated with HP BladeSystem classes including SNMP
Trap alerts from the HP BladeSystem and software alerts from the HP BladeSystem Enclosure Monitor
Service. To display details for an individual alert, select the alert from the Active Alerts pane. The Alert
Details pane displays HP Knowledge base text with the originated Windows NT® Event message in the
Alert Description.
The predefined event processing rules included with the HP BladeSystem Management Pack for
Microsoft® System Center Essentials 2007 are designed to automatically identify and display HP
BladeSystem events received in the Windows® Event Log as System Center Essentials alerts. These events
are located in the HP BladeSystem event log and are all generated by the HP BladeSystem Enclosure
Monitor Service.
