Corrective Actions
Check the PCMCIA driver installation for any
IRQ or IO address conflict.
Check if the PCMCIA card is inserted properly
and all connections are set.
Replace the PCMCIA card.
Replace the system board.
Check if trackball is enabled under CMOS Setup.
Check if PS/2 mouse driver is properly installed.
Check trackball cable inside the system if it is
inserted properly.
Remove trackball ring cover and clean the ball
and the rollers inside.
Replace trackball module.
Check the keyboard controller chip for any cold
or loosed soldering.
Replace the system board.
If using serial mouse, check if trackball option is
disabled under CMOS Setup.
Check if mouse driver is installed properly.
Check if serial device is connected properly.
Replace serial device.
Check the I/O controller chip on the system
board for any cold or loosed soldering.
Replace the system board.
Check if all connections are properly set.
Check if external device is turned on.
