If ShieldPRO cannot be resumed by pressing the power switch momentarily, press the power
switch continuously for four seconds or longer. The power lamp disappears and the power is turned
off forcibly. The settings in the BIOS Setup Menu may cause the unit to return to the factory default
values. Reset the settings for the BIOS Setup Menu again if required.

Hibernate state and recovering from hibernate state

Entering ShieldPRO into hibernate state allows power consumption to be minimised, while
restoring its last operating session when it recovers from hibernate state. To enter or resume from
hibernate state using the power switch, you must change the setting in the [Power Options] dialog.
Click [Start]
Properties] dialog box and check [Enable hibernation].
Entering hibernate state
To enter ShieldPRO into hibernate state from power-on state, use either of the following methods:
Using Windows Exit menu
1. Click [Start]
2. Click [Start]
[Hibernate].
Using the power switch
Press the power switch.
The working condition is saved to the hard disk drive. The power is turned off and ShieldPRO is
entered into hibernate state.
Do not press the power switch for four seconds or longer to enter ShieldPRO into hibernate state. Pressing
the power switch for four seconds or longer forces the power to be immediately shut off, which results in
erasing of unsaved data.
Recovering from hibernate state
To recover to power-on state from hibernate state, press the power switch.
Windows starts, and recovers the state set when power was turned off last using hibernate state
feature.
Warnings when using hibernate operation
Failure to follow the listed instructions below may cause working data to be lost when entering
ShieldPRO into hibernate state.
Resume failure
Any of the following actions during storage of working data in transition to or recovery from
hibernate state cannot assure the integrity of the working data:
[Control Panel]
[Power Options]. Click the [Hibernate] tab on the [Power Options
[Shut Down].
[Shut Down]
[Turn Off Computer]. Then hold the Shift and click
