DYNAMIC GUIDANCE WITH TMC
TMC (Traffic Message Channel) is a broadcast service supplied by RDS (Radio Data System)
providers* on the FM band. RDS TMC is a radio technique whereby inaudible digital information
is transmitted alongside a normal radio program. RDS broadcasters transmit realtime
messages about traffic events to drivers in their own languages instantly. This information can
then be filtered according to the users specified itinerary by means of receiver functions.
With the MT 5010 the actual traffic situation on your route is taken into consideration for the
purpose of 'up to the minute' traffic guidance. When utilizing the Tuner Box you will be
informed of all possible traffic obstructions covered by TMC that occur on your route and
advised on possible diversions in order to avoid these obstructions. The Tuner Box receives
information conveyed in the form of a 'virtual' language, the transmitted codes comprise of
addresses and information stored in decoder databases.
TMC COMPATIBILITY
