How to Access Help, cont.
Reinstall the software to its original state when you
purchased the computer by using the Recovery CD. You also
have the option of restoring your computer to the way it was
when you performed the last User Backup. When you restart
your computer with the Recovery CD in the drive, the
following menu is displayed.
Option
Emergency Diskette
User Backup
User Restore
Factory Restore
Exit
Note: For more information about the Recovery CD, refer to the My
Presario—Learning More CD.
Description
Creates a emergency diskette that stores the
system information that came with your
computer. This diskette contains information
specific to your computer model. You may be
prompted to insert the emergency diskette if you
use the QuickRestore CD to restore the C and D
drives to their original factory settings.
Creates a backup of all the files, applications,
and data currently on the C drive. The backup is
stored in USER.PQI files on the D drive.
Note: If the D drive does not have enough space
to store the User Backup, the computer
automatically resizes the partition then
completes the User Backup. Be aware that the
size of the C drive decreases as the size of the D
drive increases.
Uses the information stored in the USER.PQI files
on the D drive to restore all the files,
applications, and data on the C drive as they
existed at the time of your last User Backup. Any
files, data, or programs you added after your last
User Backup are deleted.
Restores the computer to its original factory
condition. You will need to re-enter your user
registration information. Any files, data, or
programs you added after receiving your
computer are deleted.
Exits the Recovery CD.
