Troubleshooting

power key, but
nothing
happened.

Be sure to press and hold
power key) until the display appears
and you hear an audible alert (this
could take a couple of seconds). If
nothing happens, check that a charged
battery is installed. (See "Installing the
Battery" on page 26.)
The SIM card may be incorrectly
inserted. Check the SIM card to make
sure that it is inserted properly. See
"Installing the SIM Card" on page 24.
Note: Be sure to turn your phone off
and then back on after you re-insert the
SIM card.
Call your service provider (the company
that sends you your monthly wireless
service bill) to obtain the PIN
unblocking key (PUK) code. See
"Unblock the SIM Card PIN Code" on
page 160.
Enter the factory-preset unlock code
(1234), or the last four digits of your
phone number. (See "Locking and
Unlocking Your Phone" on page 158.) If
this fails, call your service provider (the
company that sends you your monthly
wireless service bill).
