In a text entry screen, you can press # to switch to a
different text entry method. An indicator shows which
method is active (see page 38). If the iTAP method is not
available as the Primary or Secondary entry method, see
page 37.

tap method text entry rules
• Press a keypad key repeatedly to cycle through its
characters.
• Press S left or right to move the flashing cursor to the
left or right in a text message.
• The first character of every sentence is capitalised.
• If you enter or edit information and do not want to save
the changes, press P to exit without saving.

iTAP method
iTAP software provides a predictive text entry method that
lets you enter a word using one key press per letter. This can
be faster than the Tap method because your phone combines
the key presses to predict common words.
3 Press SELECT to lock a highlighted combination or you can
press keypad keys to add more letters to the end of the
combination.
4 Press * to enter the highlighted combination when a
word appears in the display. A space is automatically
inserted after the word.
If you enter a word that your phone does not recognise, the
phone stores it to use as one of your word options. When
you fill the available memory space for unrecognised words,
your phone deletes the oldest words to add new words.
numeric mode
In a text entry screen, press # to switch entry methods
until the 12 (numeric) indicator is displayed.
Press keypad keys to enter the numbers you want. When
you finish entering numbers, press # to switch to another
entry method.

symbol mode

In a text entry screen, press # to switch the text entry
methods until the [ (symbol) indicator displays.
