Chapter 6: Grid Edit
Basic operation
• Operation in Event area
When the cursor is in the NOW field, pressing the
down cursor key moves the cursor to the Event area.
The cursor in the Event area is at the grid where the
vertical and horizontal makers intersect. Your edit-
ing operations will be affected in the selected grid.
You can move the cursor in the Event area by the
cursor keys. You can also move the cursor to hori-
zontal directions by turning the DATA wheel.
If the Event area is not shown in the grid, the time
ruler will move and the next event area will be
shown by turning the DATA wheel.
When the horizontal marker is the upper side of
the Event area, pressing the up cursor key moves
the cursor to the Now field.
• Selecting a pad
In the pad field, you can select up to three pads at
one time.
You can select the displayed pad by hitting it. For
example, in the above drawing, if you hit the PAD
A05, the display will change as below.
The A03 that was at the bottom is in the second
row, and the A05 is at the bottom.
In this way, the last pad you hit is always displayed
at the bottom. But if you hit the pad that exists in
the Edit area, the horizontal marker moves to that
pad's row. For example, if you hit the PAD A02 in
MPC2500 Operator's Manual rev 1.0
the previous display, the horizontal marker will
move to the A02's row.
• Relationship between the unit of the Grid and
The unit of the grid in the Event area is changed by
Note value in Timing Correct window which is
shown by pressing the [F1] (T.C.) key.
When you set the Note value to 1/16, one unit of
the grid is 1/16 notes. When you set the Note value
to 1/8, one unit of the grid is seto to 1/8 notes. When
the Pad Events are in the grid, a " " symbol is dis-
played in the grid.
Example: First, the Note value has been set to 1/32
and the Pad Events are recorded as in the drawing
below.
If you change the Note value to 1/16, the even area
will be changed as follws.
In this case, every single " " symbol is displayed
in the first four grids but each grid actually has two
Pad Events.
When you edit (such as copy/paste/delete/move)
the grid, all the Pad Events in the grid are edited.
Note : If you only wish to change how the units are displayed in
the grid, press the [F4] (CLOSE) key after changing the Note
Value in Timing Correct window. If you press the [F5] (FIX), the
MPC25000 will begin processing the Timing Correct change.
