Lubrication and Maintenance (Continued)
ENGINE OIL.
Use a high quality oil classified for Service SF,
SE, SD or SC. These oils keep engine cleaner
and retard formation
of gum and varnish
'deposits.
DO NOT add anything to recom-
mended oil.
Refer to chart for recommended
viscosity
grades to use with temperature
range an-
ticipated before next oil change.

The engine crankcase oll should be checked
daily or every 5 hours of operation.

To check oil, park rider on a flat level surface,
stop engine, and wipe all debris from around
dipstick cap.
l
Turn cap, remove dipstick from engine and
wipe oil off dipstick. Insert dipstick into fill
hole and turn slowly until cap bottoms firmly.
Remove dipstick and observe oil level. If low,
add clean fresh oil (of same type and viscosity
as is in engine) to bring oll level to full (F) mark.
Replace
dipstick being sure
to tighten cap
firmly.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT over fill. Level must not
exceed full (F) mark. Oil level MUST be main-
tained in safe operating range on dipstick at all
times or engine damage will result.
