SKID SHOE ADJUSTMENT
The skid shoes should be lowered to raise the auger
housing to clear rough or gravelled surfaces. Raise the
skid shoes to lower the auger housing to clear smooth or
paved surfaces. NOTE that the skid shoes can be installed
upside down to track better over icy or hardpacked sur¬
faces. To adjust the skid shoes, place a block under the
scraper blade. Loosen the retaining nuts and move shoe
up or down to desired height. Tighten retaining nuts after
setting both skid shoes to the same depth. Remove block
from under scraper blade. See Figure 3.8.

SINGLE HANDLE CONTROL ADJUSTMENTS
(17243 Models Only)
A. Hold the traction clutch control lever down against the
handle (L.H. Side) See Figure 3.9.
B. Check position of the cam lock - it must align with the
adjusting line on the cam lock bracket.
C. To adjust, loosen the nuts on the cable guide support
bracket and move bracket in or out until the cam lock
aligns with the adjusting line. Tighten nuts.
D. Hold the traction clutch lever down while pressing the
blower clutch lever down into its engaged position
and hold.

Check the position of the cable ferrule shown in
Figure 3.9.
F. The ferrule shown in Figure 3.9 must be located 1/16"
(.060) above the hook of the cam lock. To adjust,
loosen the three nuts on the cam lock bracket and
HOLD DOWN
slide it up or down until adjustment is correct. Tighten
nuts and release both control levers.
