On charging the batterypack
We recommend charging tile battery pack in an
ambient teml?eramre ol between IO°C to 3()°C
(50°F to 86°F). You may not be able to efficiently
charge tile battery pack outside of this teu/peralurc
range.
Effectiveuse of the battery pack
• Batlery perlormance decreases ill low
telnperalurc surroundings. So. tile time tllat tile
bailer}' pack can be used is shorter in coM
places. We recommend file Rdlowing to ensure
longer baltery pack u_:
Put lhe battery pack in a pocket close to your
body to warm it up, and inert il in your
camera immediately belore you start
shooting.
• Tile battcly pack will run out quickly if you use
tile flash or zoom flequenfly.
• We recommend having spare battery packs
bandy lor two or three lhlles file expecled
shooling time, and making trial shols belbre
taking tile actual sllots.
• Do nol expose the baltery pack to waler. The
baltery pack is not waler-resislanl.
• Do not leglve file balte W pack in extremely hot
places, such as in a cal or under direcl sunlighl.
Howto storethe battery pack
• It tile battery pack is not to be used lor a long
time, lully chm'ge il and then tully use it up once
a year on your camera belbre storing file battery
pack in a dly. cool place. Repeat this charging
and using up once a year lo maimain file batlery
pack's lunction.
• To use the balte W pack up, leave your camera in
slide show (page 54) playback mode unlil lhe
power goes oil.
• To i)rcvent staining file terminal, sllort-
circuiting, elc.. be sure to use a supplied batlery
case when canting and sloring.
On batterylife
• The bmtery lile is limited. Battery capacity
decreases little by little as you use it more and
inom. and as tinle passes. If the battery
operating time seems shortened consklerably, a
probable cause is that the battery pack has
reached the end of its lilt. Buy a new battel T
pack.
• The battery lile varies according to how it is
stored and the operating conddions and
enviromnenl in which each ballery pack is used.
Compatiblebatterypack
• Tile NP-BDI (supplied) can be u_d only ill D
type conlpalible Cyber-shol models. II cannot be
used in Cyber-shot models compalible with file
T type and other battery types.
• If the NP-FDI battery pack (not supplied) is
used. file minute display (1_ 60 Min) is also
shown ariel tile ballery remaining indicator.
