16.4 Regenerating self-cleaning surfaces in
the cooking compartment
The ceiling in the cooking compartment is self-cleaning.
The self-cleaning surfaces are coated with a porous,
matt ceramic layer and have a rough surface. When
the grill function is in operation, the self-cleaning sur-
faces absorb splashes from roasting or grilling and
break down the grease residues. If you are primarily
using the microwave function, start the grill function at
regular intervals to clean the ceiling.
ATTENTION!
Using oven cleaner on the self-cleaning surfaces dam-
ages the surfaces.
Do not use oven cleaner on the self-cleaning sur-
faces. If oven cleaner does get onto these surfaces,
dab it off immediately using water and a sponge
cloth. Do not rub the surface and do not use abras-
ive cleaning aids.
