8 DIAGNOSTICS / TROUBLE SHOOTING
8.1 Measurements and adjustments
In the Photo CD player no adjustments are present ! The
result of high quality state of the art is the reason that no
laser current or laser offset have to be adjusted: also on
the audio and video parts there are no adjustments
present.
8.2 Trouble shooting / quick diagnostics
— In case of problems first make sure that the voltage
used matches the voltage setting on the player unit.
Refer to the type sticker of the wall adapter.
— Check of power supply.
First check if wall adapter functions; during nominal
input voltage the output must be 8.8 Volts DC.
The supply part is located in the foot; check if all
voltages are present; check +5 V and -5 V. Also check
if +5 V and - 5 V are present at the servo and
audio/video panel.
— Check crystal frequencies at:
IC 7250 across pin 38, 39 and ground
IC 7350 across pin 24, 25 and ground
IC 7555 across pin 32, 33 and ground
IC 7530 across pin 25, 26 and ground for
PAL players.
and across pin 27, 28 and ground for
NTSC players
— Use service diagnostics to localize errors c.q.
malfunctioning see chapter 6.
