4. 7. 8 Clutch Magnet Assembly Adjustment
1.
By means of the adjusting screws, position the
clutch magnet cores square with the armature.
With the detent resting on top of the detent wheel,
there should be a clearance of O. 010" between
the armature and cores (Figure 4-22).

Adjust the armature stop rod for a clearance of
0. 005" between the armature and the stop rod
with the detent on the top of the detent wheel.
(Figure 4-22).
These adjustments should result in an air
gap of O. 060" to O. 065" between the armature
and the cores when the magnet is deenergized and
the detent is in the detent wheel.

Wit1I the detent in the detent wheel, adjust the
detent spring for a clearance of 0. 050 "±0. 005"
between the detent and the detent spring (Fig-
ure 4-23).
4. 7. 9 Detent Wheel Backstop Adjustment
With the detent wheel in a detented position, adjust
the detent wheel backstop for a clearance of 0. 005"
to O. 012" to the detent tooth (Figure 4-24).
4. 7. 10 Interposer Magnet Assembly Adjustment
1.
Adjust the armature pivot screws so that the
right side of the armature
is
O. 393" (13/32")
from the right side of the pivot frame (Figure
4-25).
2.
Loosen the clamping screws. Turn the adjusting
screw to position the magnet frame in relation
to the armature pivot frame to obtain 0. 003" to
0. 005" clearance between the armature and the
