centre vents can be closed in cold
weather or opened for extra fresh
air when heating.
Heating
The heating depends upon the
coolant temperature and is
therefore only effective when the
engine is warm.
Air conditioning
The air is directed through the
evaporator heat exchanger where
it is cooled if the air conditioning is
switched ON. In addition, humidity
is extracted from the air to help
keep the windows free of mist.
The resulting condensation is
directed to the outside of the
vehicle. It is therefore quite normal
if you notice a small pool of water
underneath the parked vehicle.
The air conditioning system
Note:
only operates when the
temperature is above +5°C, the
engine is running and the blower is
switched ON. Operating the air
conditioning leads to high fuel
consumption.
General notes on controlling the
climate in the vehicle interior
Close all the windows completely.
Climate Controls
To warm the interior effectively,
direct the heated air to the footwell
area. In very cold or humid
weather, direct air towards the
front screen and side windows as
necessary to prevent from misting
or icing.
To cool the interior effectively,
direct the cooled air from the
centre and side vents towards the
face level.
CONTROLS
Blower
The Blower is OFF in the 0
position.
To increase the blower speed,
select a higher number.
With the blower turned OFF, the
ventilation air flow depends only
on the road speed and window
misting may occur under adverse
conditions.
