Operation Precautions
· · Before proceeding, read the Operation Precautions in the Inverter Instruction Manual and
the following notes about using this ROM.
1. Cautions Regarding Motor
• Motors with brakes
Configure the circuitry so that the brake will be ON if the inverter trips. The signal generated
by the current monitoring and low-speed detection feature provided on the ROM can be
used to switch the brake. This turns the brake ON when the inverter trips.
2. Cautions Regarding Inverter
• Output phase failure detection
Select output phase failure detection to prevent the Hoist & Crane from falling due to
insufficient torque

the output power is interrupted. However, it may not be possible to use
this feature or to detect output phase failures in th.e following situations. Daily and regular
inspections should be carried out to prevent such risk.
T As phase failures may be detected erroneously, selection of output phase failure
detection will not work when:
• Motor impedance is high (motor capacity is 2 ranks or more below that of inverter).
• Motor impedance is low (high-speed motor connected).
• The restart function after momentary power outage is ON and the inverter is restarted.
T Output phase failure detection is impossible when:
• The motors are connected in parallel and only ofthem has a failed phase.
• Phase failure occurs during inching operations.
• V/f control selection
To set V/f control for motors connected in parallel, set output voltage control to ON {in

overexcitation will occur at regeneration and the inverter may trip out.
