TIMER PLAYBACK

This model includes a built-in timer. Be sure to set the time.
Normally, timer recording refers to recording radio broadcasts {"'air-
checking') while away from home.

Unattended recording
1. Press the power switch to the ON position.
2. Load the cassette tape onto which you want to record.
* To record on both sides of the tape with the c>/ => position, be
sure to load the tape with the forward side facing forward. The
tape will stop automatically when the end of the reverse side is
reached.
3. Select the REVERSE MODE switch.
4. Select the DOLBY NR switch.
5. Press the SET switch.

CLEANING THE HEAD SECTION
The heads, capstan and pinch roller are parts which are liable to get
dirty quite easily. In particular, if the heads are dirty, the high frequency
components of the sound will not be reproduced and the stereo balance
will be impaired, resulting in a deterioration in sound quality. It is there-
fore recommended
that the head section be cleaned regularly
* Press the EJECT button to open the cassette door.
* Dip a cleaning swab into head cleaning fluid and use it to wipe the
heads, capstan, and pinch rofler.

* Do not hold screwdrivers,
metal objects or magnets close to the
heads.
¢ When demagnetizing the heads, be sure the unit's POWER switch
