Listening with the Same Surround Mode

LSM (Last surround memory) function
This function memorizes the selected surround menu of each
program source at all times. With this function, you can always
listen to the same program source with the same preset surround
menu even after changing the program source or turning the unit on
afresh.
Playing with the LSM Function
Press and hold the SEL button and press the preset number
button 10.

The "LSM" indication is displayed.
For example, if you listen to a disc in the "CHURCH" mode just after
listening to a tape in the "HALL" mode, the next time you listen to a
tape, it is automatically played in the "HALL" mode.
If you wish to cancel the LSM function, press and held the SEL
button and then press the preset number button 10.
Select a program source from tape, CD or radio.

enter the DSP select/adjust mode.

Adjusting the Soundfield Inside Your Car
By adjusting the following, you can set up customized soundfields
and tone quality inside your car.
*Listening position
*Sub-woofer's cutoff frequency and volume
*Bass and treble
Listening position adjustment
The time taken by the sound to reach the listener from each
speaker can be adjusted. Even in an impertect listening
environment such as inside a car, it is possible to simulate a natural
sound image so that a listener can feel as if he is sitting in the
middle of the soundfield wherever he sits in the car.
Sub woofer's cutoff frequency/volume adjustment
To match the characteristics of the connected sub woofer(s), you
can cut the unwanted high and middie frequency audio signal going
into the sub woofer(s). The frequency at which the audio signal is
cut off is called the cutoff frequency. By setting the cutoff
frequency, the sub woofer(s) is (are) able to output clearer bass
whose frequency range is lower than the selected cutoff frequency.
Thus creating the sound image without the variance of the phases
caused by input frequencies.
Bassftreble adjustment
The voiume can be adjusted by selecting the center frequencies of
both the bass and treble sound to suit the acoustic characteristics
inside your car.

1 Select the listening position in step 4 on page 40, then
press the SEL button.
2 The unit enters the left and right balance adjust mode.
