Pulling out the power cord and then reinserting it re-
stores the initial settings.
4.Test mode
(1) How to set and cancel test mode
The test mode is entered by plugging in the power
cord while depressing the selector "TAPE" key. Test
mode is cleared by pressing other selector keys or
by turnig off power to the system.
(2) Actuation specifications
A) Play actuation test
When you turn off the TIMER REC switch, insert
casettes into A and B and turn the system on, after
about 4 seconds, the following occur in succession :
Deck A FWD play 5 second -HI SPEED 1.5 sec-
onds — RVS play 2 seconds — STOP. Then the
same functions are carried out for Deck B.
4 second REC & PLAY
When you press the REC key, the following occur in
succession : REC for 4 seconds at REC VR LEVEL
—22dB Rewind to REC start position PLAY. Even
during recording, you can switch the C) actuation
mode and DOLBY ON/OFF.

Set to —22dB
when the system is turned on.
Changes in 3 steps from « to —22dB and then 0dB
when you press the HI-DUBB key (UP) or the DUBB
key (DOWN).
D) Direction Mode switch test
Displayed as follows :
When the One Way Mode switch is ON
When the One Way Mode switch is OFF
E) CCRS test
When press the CCRS key the REC LEVEL is set to
OdB, the CCRS indicator lights and the REC PAUSE:
mode is entered. At this time all keys are prohibited
except the B deck STOP key. Pressing the STOP
key causes the CCRS indicator to illuminate, signal-
ing that the CCRS has been set. Pressing the CCRS
key when the CCRS indicator is illuminated clears
CCRS mode turns off the indicator.
F) Speed adjustment
When press the FWD PLAY key play begins at nor-
mal speed. Pressing THE FF key causes play to
proceed at high speed. The head does not go down
when the two keys are preessed alternately.
G) KEY input authorization time and LINE MUTE during
CCRS
2 second after the system turns on, KEY line input
is allowed (normally four seconds later). During test
mode LINE MUTE is open even during CCRS set-
ting.
