fumes, corrosive road salt, etc. A well cared
for Audi can look like new many years after
pu rchase . Regula r and correct care w ill con-
tr ibute to maintain ing the beauty and value of
your Audi.
Furthermore , good care may be a condition
for substantiating a warranty claim should
corrosion damage or paint defects occur.
Your author ized Audi dealer has a variety of
dedicated vehicle-care products
and can ad -
vise wh ich ones to use for cleaning t he exter i-
or and inte rior of your vehicle .
Whether you use produc t s recommended
by
Audi or other commercially ava ilable clean ing
agents, please make sure you apply t hem cor-
rectly .

fluids. They may be toxic, flammab le or
hazar d ou s in other ways. Do not was h,
wax or dry t he vehicle wit h t he ig nit ion
on or the eng ine running .
- Do not clea n t he under sides of chassis,
fen ders, wheel cove rs, etc. wit hout pro-
tectin g your hands and a rms. You may
cut yourself on sharp-ed ged metal parts .
- Moisture and ice on b rakes may impair

Washing
Frequent washing protects the vehicle.
The best protection against environmen t al in-
fluences is
frequent
wash ing and waxing . How
often t his is requi red depends on :
- How much t he ve hicle is used
- Whe re the veh icle is parked (garage, in the
open under trees, etc.)
- The seasona l and weather conditions
- Environmental infl uences
The longer bird d roppings, inse cts, tree res in,
road a nd indus tr ial gr ime, ta r, soo t , road salt
and other mater ials remain on the vehicle
paint, the more lasting t heir destr uctive ef-
fects w ill be .
High t empera t ures, as from expos ure to in-
tense sun light, intensify the corrosive eff ect
part icu lar ly when humidity is high as well.
Under certa in circu ms t ances,
weekly
washing
may be ne cessary. Unde r othe r cond it ions , a
mon t hly washing and waxing may be ade -
quate.
After t he winter, t he unders ide of t he vehicle
sho uld be t horo ughly washe d preferab ly in a
pro fessional car wash.
