Solution
No FM station can be located by Auto-
Tuning operation.
The signal strength of the station is too
weak.
Press TUN/CHARA and V to set the
receiving signal levei low.
The STEREO indicator flickers or
does not appear when receiving
stereo programs.
A very weak FM station or a noisy FM
program is received.
Adjust the antenna or connect an
external FM antenna.
Press FM MODE to set to MONO
mode.
No station can be tuned in by Auto-
Tuning operation.
The AM tuning interval is set
incorrectly.
Change the tuning interval according
to the AM frequency allocation system
of your country. (See page 5.)
The signal strength of the stations is
too weak for Auto-Tuning.
Adjust the antenna.
Directly tune in the stations.

No stations can be tuned in by Preset-
Tuning.

Remote Commander
Cause
Solution
The remote commander will not operate.
The batteries are exhausted.
The commander head is not pointed
toward the receiver.
There is an object between the
commander and the receiver.
Replace the batteries with new ones.
Point the commander head toward the
receiver.
Remove the object.
The commander signal cannot be
programmed.
There is noise interference.
Place both remote commanders apart
from the source of noise.
The batteries are exhausted.
Replace the batteries with new ones.
The LEARN indicator goes off after
flashing.
The internal memory capacity is full.
Clear all the signals and program
again. (See page 15.)
