mainlenance
To
simplify maintenance of your Volvo, the
vehicle
has been equipped with ball joints,
steering rods and propeller shafts of such
a construction that they do not require re-
gular lubrication. This has been possible
due
to
the fact that points that normally
require
lubricating have been packed with
very
durable grease at the factory and
then
carefully sealed, this obviating
the
need for subsequent lubrication.
Oil should be changed or the oil level
checked after every 6000 miles
(10000
km)
in accordance with the lubricating chart at
the end of the book. The measures taken
in this inspection are also to be found in
the
lubricating chart.
Always
use only first-class lubricants of a
well-known make. The right lubricants in
the right
quantity at the right time will in-
crease both the lifetime and the reliability
of your ear.

Lubricate body
To avoid rattle and unnecessary
wear,
the
body should be lubricated once a year.
The hinges on
the
hood, doors and trunk
lid as weil as door stops should be lubri-
cated every 6000 miles (10000 km). During
the wintertime, the locks in the door hand-
les and trunk lid should also be given
reliable anti-freeze to prevent them from
freezing'
up.
