Set the distance from your listening position to
the front speakers (O on page 14).
• Center speaker distance (_ DIST.

Set the distance _¥om your listening position to
the center speaker. Center spe;tker distance
should be set l¥om a distance equal to the front
speaker distance (O on page 14) to a dist_mce
1.5 meters (5 feet) closer to your listening
position (O on page 14).
• Surround speaker distance (_
DIST. X.X m (XX ft.))
Set the distance from your listening position to
the surround speakers. Surround speaker
distance should be set 1Yore a distance equal to
the front speaker distance (_ on page 14) to a
dist*mce 4.5 meters (I 5 feet) closer to your
listening position (O on page 14).
Tip
The ]_ceiver a]hlws you to input _he speaker posdio]t
in terms of distmlce. However, it is not possible to set
the center speaker
furdler than the fro]it speakers.
Also, the center speaker cannot be set more than
1.5 meters (5 fee0 closer thar_the front speakers.
Likewise, tile st_rround speakers can not be set ft_rther
away from the [isteni]lg position than the front
speakers. And they can be ml more than 4.5 meters
(15 feet) closer.
This is b_ause ir_con'ect speaker p]acemenl is not
conducive to er_joy surround sound.
P{e_se note that, setting file speaker distance closer
than the actual Iocatior_ of the speakers wi!! cause a
delay in the output of the sound from that speaker. In
other words, the speaker will sou_ld like it is further
away.
For example, setting the center speaker distance
1_2 m (3_6 feet) closer _hml the actual speaker
position will create a fairly l_alistic sensation of being
"inside" the screen. If you cannot obtain a satisfactory
smTound effect because the surround speakers are too
close, setting the surround speaker dis{ance closer
(shorter) than the actual distance will creale a larger
sound stage.
Adjusting these parameter while listening to the
sotmd oflell resuhs ir_much better surrour_d soured.

This pararaeter lets you specify the height of
your surround speakers tbr proper
implementation of the Digital Cinema Sound
surround modes. Refer to the illustration below.
• Select "PL. LOW" if the location of your
s_rround speakers corresponds to section _.
• Select "PL. H1GH" if the location of your
s_rround speakers corresponds to section _.
