• Press the "Illy" key. The led turns on and the
machine warms up to the right temperature.
• Insert the pod into the fi lter-holder; make sure
that the paper of the pod does not stick out of the
fi lter-holder.
• Check that the temperature ready led is perma-
nently on.
• Insert the fi lter-holder into the brew group from the
bottom.
• Turn the fi lter-holder from left to right until it locks
into place.
• Take 1 preheated cup and place it under the fi lter-
holder; check that it is correctly placed under the
coffee brewing spout.

• Press the coffee button (4).
• When the desired quantity of coffee has been
obtained, press the coffee button again to stop
brewing and remove the cup of coffee.
• Wait a few seconds after brewing, then remove the
fi lter-holder and dispose of the used pod.
Cleaning note: keep the fi lter of the fi lter-
holder clean by removing it from its seat and
washing it with drinking water (see chapter 9).
The machine can brew coffee also with ground coffee.
In this case, instead of a pod, insert a suitable amount
of ground coffee into the fi lter.
The "Illy" key has been created to optimize
brewing with "Illy" coffee pods and ground
coffee.
