2. Install:
• Washer "1"
• Bolt "2"
• Bolt "3"

TIP
Tighten the bolts using the following procedure.
a. Wash the threads and contact surfaces of
the bolts, the contact surfaces of the
washers, the contact surface of the cylin-
der head, and the threads of the crank-
case.
b. Apply molybdenum disulfide grease to the
threads and contact surfaces of the bolts
and to both contact surfaces of the wash-
ers.
c. Install the washers and the bolts.
d. Install the bolts in the tightening sequence
shown until the bolt and washer are lightly
seated against the cylinder head.
e. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque in
two or three steps in the proper tightening
sequence as shown.

TIP
Loosen the bolt [1] only without loosening any
other bolt.

g. Again apply molybdenum disulfide grease
to the thread and contact surface of the
bolts and to both contact surface of the
washer.
h. Retighten the bolt.

23 N·m (2.3 kgf·m, 17 lb·ft)
i. Put a mark on the corner of the bolt (cylin-
der head) "1" and the cylinder head "2" as
shown.
j. Retighten the cylinder head mounting bolt
in the proper tightening sequence.
