RGB signal

Connect
the A/V1
EING./AUSG.
connector
of the recorder (or VPV adapter's 21-pin con-
nector). to the RGB signal converter, and the RGB signal
converter to the RGB-compatible AV IN connector of the
television. The Y/C signal is converted
into an
R/G/B
signal and high-quality S-VHS
pictures are available. For
this purpose, set the AV1 VIDEO-AUSG. switch @ to Y/C
and put the television in the RGB mode.

If your television is equipped with a Y/C-compatible AV
IN connector,
simply connect
the A/V1
EING./AUSG.
connector
of the recorder (or VPV
adapter's 21-pin con-
nector} to the Y/C-compatible
AV
IN connector
of the
television, To reproduce high-quality pictures, set the AV1
VIDEO-AUSG. switch @ to Y/C and put the television in
the Y/C mode.
(3) 4-Pin S connection
if your
television
is equipped
with a 4-pin S-VIDEO
IN
connector, simply connect the S AUSG. connector of the
recorder to the S-VIDEO
IN connector of the television
using the provided S-VIDEO cable, and connect the AUDIO
AUSG. connectors of the recorder to the AUDIO
IN con-
nectors of the television.
Note:
For switching the TV's input mode, refer to the instruc-
tion manual of your television.
Audio connection
For more dynamic sound reproduction, a stereo system can be
connected. By doing so, even with monaural televisions, you
can play stereo and bilingual programmes. When listening to
sound from
the connected
stereo system, turn down
com-
pletely the sound volume of the television.
Connect
the AUDIO
EING.
L and R connectors of the re-
corder to the recording output terminals of the amplifier, and
connect the AUDIO
AUSG.
L and R connectors of the re-
corder to the AUX
IN or TAPE MONITOR terminals of the
amplifier.
If you want to timer-control the recording of FM simulcast
programmes,
connect
the tuner's
power
cord to the HR-
S5000EG's AC outlet. Set the NETZAUSGANG switch © to
EIN, and both the tuner and the recorder will be switched on
at the recorder's preprogrammed
time. Timer-controlled
re-
cording of FM simulcast programmes is not possible with the
type of tuners which reset the channel each time the power is
switched off.
CAUTION
® The HR-S5SOOOEG
has a dynamic range of more than 90 dB with
regards to its hi-fi audio capability. {t is recommended that you |
check the maximum
fevel if you are going to listen to the hi-fi
audio
signals
through
a
stereo
amplifier.
A sudden
surge
in
speaker input may cause speaker damage.
@Some
speakers and televisions are specially shielded to prevent
television interference. |f both are of the non-shielded type, do
not place the speakers adjacent
to the TV set, otherwise the
video playback picture will not be normal because of mutual in-
terference.
