Pay attention to the dimensions of the diamond cup wheel.
The diameter of the hole must match that of the mounting
flange. The mounting hole of the diamond cup wheel may not
be enlarged. Do not use an adapter or reducer.

Mounting the diamond cup wheel
Choose a diamond cup wheel suitable for the material to be
worked. Please also observe the material information on the
packaging of the diamond cup wheel.
Clean the grinding spindle (13) and all parts to be mounted.
Place the mounting flange (14) on the grinding spindle (13)
so that the centring collar is on the outside. The mounting
flange (14) must engage on the flats of the grinding
spindle (13) (anti-twist protection).
A plastic part (O-ring) is fitted around the cent-
ring collar in the mounting flange (14). If the
O-ring is missing or damaged, the mounting
flange (14) must be replaced before operation
can resume.
Place the diamond cup wheel (15) on the mounting
flange (14). Ensure that the direction of rotation arrow on
the diamond cup wheel (15) corresponds with the direction
of rotation arrow on the protective guard and extraction
hood (3).
Press the spindle lock button (9) to lock the grinding
spindle.
Screw on the clamping nut (16) and tighten it with the two-
pin spanner (18).
Ensure that the collar of the clamping nut (16) faces out-
wards, as shown in the figure.
After mounting the diamond cup wheel and before
u
switching on, check that the diamond cup wheel is
correctly mounted and that it can turn freely. Make
sure that the diamond cup wheel does not graze

against the protective guard and extraction hood or
other parts.
Changing the diamond cup wheel
When transporting the power tool, the diamond cup
wheel (15) should be removed to avoid damage to it.
Do not touch the diamond cup wheel until it has cooled
u
down. Diamond cup wheels become very hot whilst work-
ing.
Press the spindle lock button (9) to lock the grinding
spindle.
Do not press the spindle lock button while the grind-
u
ing spindle is moving. The power tool may become dam-
aged if you do this.
Loosen the clamping nut (16) with the two-pin spanner (18)
and unscrew the clamping nut (16). Remove the diamond
cup wheel (15).
Quick-clamping nut
To change the abrasive tool easily without having to use any
additional tools, you can use the quick-clamping nut (17) in-
stead of the clamping nut (16).

with pliers. Always use the two-pin spanner (18).
Dust/Chip Extraction
The dust from materials such as lead paint, certain types of
wood, minerals and metal can be harmful to human health.
Touching or breathing in this dust can trigger allergic reac-
tions and/or cause respiratory illnesses in the user or in
people in the near vicinity.
Certain dusts, such as oak or beech dust, are classified as
carcinogenic, especially in conjunction with wood treatment
additives (chromate, wood preservative). Materials contain-
ing asbestos may only be machined by specialists.
– To achieve a high level of dust extraction, use the
GAS 55 M dust extractor for mineral dust together with
this power tool.
– Provide good ventilation at the workplace.
Press the spindle lock
button (9) to lock the grind-
ing spindle. To tighten the
(19) (17)
quick-clamping nut, firmly
turn the diamond cup wheel
clockwise.
If the quick-clamping nut
has been attached correctly
and is not damaged, you
can loosen it by hand by
turning the knurled ring an-
ticlockwise. Never loosen a
tight quick-clamping nut
