Notes
* Each of the preset tones has a specific range in which it can sound (see "Note Table" on pages
A-3 and A-4). If a note number received exceeds its upper or lower range, the same note in the
nearest upper or lower octave is used instead.
PROGRAM CHANGE
This message indicates tone selection as a value in the range of 0 to 127. Whenever you select a
tone on the WK-1500, the corresponding data is sent out as
a PROGRAM
CHANGE
message
through the MIDI OUT terminal. PROGRAM
CHANGE data can also be used to change the
WK-1500's tone setting from an external device.
PITCH BEND
This message controls upward and downward bending of the pitch of a note. Rotating the WK-1500's
pitch bend wheel causes corresponding data to be sent out as a PITCH BEND message through the
MIDI OUT terminal.
CONTROL CHANGE
This message is used to add vibrato or to change the volume of a tone. The CONTROL CHANGE
message includes the following information.
¢ CONTROL NUMBER: effect identifier
* CONTROL VALUE: effect depth, on/off setting

« GM SYSTEM ON ([FOJ[7E}[7F][09][01][F7])
;
;
:
This SYSTEM EXCLUSIVE returns the WK-1500 to its General MIDI basic settings.
GM SYSTEM ON takes more time to process than other messages. Whenever you record a
GM SYSTEM ON message in sequencer data, always provide an interval of at least 5|0msec
(50/1000 second) before the next message.
* GENERAL MIDI SYSTEM OFF ([FO][7E][{7F][09][02][F7])
Receipt of any of the above messages disables the WK-1500's General MID] System.
EFFECT CHANGE ([FO][44][OB)[09][XX][F7])
This SYSTEM
EXCLUSIVE
switches the built-in digital effect type.
A hexadecimal effect
number that identifies the digital effect being changed to is input in piace of the "xx" in the
above SYSTEM
EXCLUSIVE message, and then the message is sent from the sequencer
(computer) to the WK-1500. The table below shows the hexadecimal numbers that identify
each of the digital effects.

Receive Only MIDI Messages
The following MIDI messages only can be received by the WK-1500. Note that messages in this
section marked with an asterisk affect overall WK-1500 operation. Messages without asterisks affect
particular MIDI channels.
CHANNEL PRESSURE
This message is output when additional pressure is applied to keyboard keys after they are already
depressed. With the WK-1500, CHANNEL
PRESSURE
and MODULATION
are the same, and
receipt of either messages causes vibrato to be applied. Vibrato is turned off when either CHANNEL
PRESSURE or MODULATION is turned off.
RPN NULL
This message initializes any parameter being controlled by RPN.
