Saving fuel

Vehicle features and options
This chapter describes model-specific equip-
ment, systems, and functions that are currently
available, or may become available in the fu-
ture, even if they are not present in the vehicle.

Reducing fuel consumption
Principle
The vehicle contains advanced technologies
for the reduction of consumption and emission
values.
There are some actions you can take to
change your fuel consumption and environ-
mental impact:
▷ Set M Engine Dynamics Control to
"EFFICIENT" program.
▷ Set the Drivelogic program to D1.
▷ Remove unnecessary cargo from the vehi-
cle.
▷ Remove add-on parts, e.g., a rear carrier,
after use.
▷ Close the windows and glass sunroof while
driving.
▷ Check the tire pressure regularly and in-
crease it as necessary.
▷ Switch off the engine if the vehicle is to re-
main stationary for a longer period.
▷ Practice anticipatory driving and let the ve-
hicle coast more often.
▷ Deactivate functions that are not required,
e.g., rear window heating.
▷ Have the vehicle serviced regularly.
