Using Sound Fields
Adjusting the Sound
This amplifier is equipped with 7 band graphic
equalizer. You can adjust the equalizer curve of the
front speakers for optimum sound while listening to a
Program source. The adjusted sound is stored in
memory with the surround mode (see "Choosing a
Surround Mode" on page 12) and you can use your
adjusted sound just as you would use the pre-
programmed ones.
To adjust the levels of vour speaker svstem, go to
"Adjusting the speaker volume" on page 14.
Before vou start, play a program source you want to
adjust. If you have a superwoofer, set the woofer to
on.

Select a preset sound fields (see page 15 for
details).

Press EQ until the indicator on this button lights
up.
The graphic equalizer is displayed.

Press 4or >to select the frequency.
The indicator of the selected frequency blinks.

Press a or ¥ to adjust the sound level.

'Cr When you want to reset the equalizer
Press EQ FLAT (or FLAT on the remote).
Storing the customized sound field
You can store equalizer curve and the surround mode,
and then call up this sound field when you play a
favorite program source. You can create up to five
sound fields (USER 1 - 5).

Adjust the equalizer curve and select the
surround mode, if necessary.

Press MEMORY.
The USER 1 to USER 5 indicators blink in the
display.

Press one of the numeric buttons (1 - 5) you want
to store.
Calling up your sound field
1 Press USER.
2 Press one of the numeric buttons (1 - 5).
"Cr You can change the equalizer display
Press DISPLAY.
Each time you press this button, the
equalizer display changes as follows:
Spectrum analyzer 1 (bar display)

Spectrum analyzer 2 (peak level display)
