The controls and operations described below are the extra
playback
facilities
available
when
playing
CAV
(Active
play/Standard play} discs.
| Chapter/Frame number display

When the DISPLAY key is pressed, the chapter and frame
numbers are displayed on the TV screen, The term "frame"
refers to each of the picture images recorded on a CAV
disc.
[ Still frame/Frame advance :

these keys
During play if the STILL/STEP key is pressed, the picture
will be frozen.
At this point, the disc can be played one frame at a time in
either the forward or reverse direction by pressing one of
these keys. The sound is muted during still frame or frame
advance operation.
To return to normal playback operation, press the PLAY
key.
| Frame search
Any desired frame can be searched for by specifying its
frame number.
1, Press the CHAPTER/FRAME TIME key. "Frame 00000"
appears on the TV screen,
2. Enter the required frame number with the digit keys.
3. Press the PLAY key. Playback will begin at the specified
frame number.

During playback, the playback direction can be changed
with
the
MULTI
SPEED
key. 1/4 the normal
playback
speed is set automatically.
With the + and — keys, the playback speed can be changed
from x3 to x1/90 the normal playback speed.
Sound is muted during Multi-speed playback operation. To
return to normal playback operation, press the PLAY key.
