The
above
limitations of
Mylar
tape
and
air
filtration
are
applicable
to
650
installations
which
include tape
and/or
disk storage
only,
and
in
no
way
apply
to
the
700
series
equipment which
may
be used
as peripheral
equipment
in
the
650
installation.
This peripheral equipment
includes the
Tape
Data
Selector,
Tape-to-Card,
Tape
-to
-Printer
and Card-to-Tape systems,
all
of
which
require
the
temperature, humidity and
air
filtration
specifications
as
outlined
in
the
appropriate physical planning
manual
If
the
650
is
subjected
to
temperature below
50°
F
.
for
any extended
time,
it
will
be
necessary
to
provide an appropriate
warm-up
period before
starting the
machine,
to
prevent
damage
to
the
magnetic
drum
During
nonoperational periods,
when machine power
is
"OFF,
"
the
room
air
temperature
may
be as high as 110° F.
However,
the
room
temperature
must
be brought below
the
maximum
temperature
specified
for the
system
before
the
650
System
is
started.
