4-3. Precautions for Clearing Paper Jams
• When clearing paper jams, leave the main power switch or sub power
switch on. When the power is turned off, you cannot pull out the tray or
the conveyance fixing unit.
• When clearing paper jams, operate the green part (lever,
knob, etc.) and follow the procedure displayed on the
control panel to clear the paper jams.

• This system has an "automatic purge function". Do not open the door of the
machine or option during the purge operation.
What is the automatic purge function?
This function forces the print paper to be ejected to the nearest subtray, etc. so that the
print paper behind the place where the paper jam occurred does not become jammed
further. Keep the power to the machine turned on during the purge operation.
• The fusing unit is at high temperature. Follow the
instructions on the control panel and caution label to
clear the paper jams.
