Preparation
Charging the battery pack
You must charge a newly bought battery pack. And, if during the
player operation the CJ mark appears on the display, turn off the
player and recharge the battery pack. Any electronic book or
compact disc inside the player can remain there during the
charge.
A full charge takes about 3 hours, and can deliver up to 1.2 hours
in normal operation or 30 minutes when the display light (page
31) is turned on. To charge, follow the steps below.
1 Make sure the battery pack is inside the battery compartment.
2 Connect the AC power adaptor (page 15).
3 Press Pil (POWER ON).
An opening message appears briefly on the display. (If you
cannot see anything, read page 31 and adjust the contrast.)
4 When "BATT" appears in the center black box at the bottom
of the display, press (F3) (BATT).
"Now charging the battery" appears.
When the charge is completed (about three hours for a full
charge), "Charge complete" appears.
To operate the player during the charge, press
or
(TITLE).
To stop the charge, simply unplug the AC power adaptor.
5 Unplug the AC power adaptor.
